Being a community of Jesuits and lay partners, who share in the mission of Christ imbued with Ignatian Spirituality through prison ministry, it is essential that PJPS's partners know about the life of St. Ignatius and Ignatian Spirituality.
With this, PJPS conducted last August 26, 2017 a workshop on Ignatian Spirituality held at the St. Joseph Chapel, Sycamore Prime Bldg., Muntinlupa City. The workshop was mostly attended by its partners, formation volunteers and those willing to create a deep bond with Jesus.
Fr. Roseller Atilano, SJ, currently PJPS Associate Director, gave inputs on the life of St. Ignatius and why one should know the life of St. Ignatius in order to understand Ignatian Spirituality. Consequently, Ms. Gwendolyn Llano, a Registered Guidance Counselor and a long-time volunteer in Prison Ministry, facilitated a workshop on the Spirituality of Volunteerism and discussed how one would respond to the call of God.
Finding God in all things and giving God a chance to open our hearts wider were the key messages of the whole day activity. Participants were thankful of a very informative and enjoyable workshop experience and they look forward to continuing working in the prison ministry to rebuilding lives and rekindling hope.
